Installation at Corentin-Celton hospital, Issy-les-moulineaux, France, 14th October - 15 December 2004
Sculptures in the open air
An installation of sculptures resembling a community of fleas posing in the garden of a newly renovated geriatric hospital "Corentin-Celton". A hospital seems to be a place where we can find a continuous activity of cleaning-ritual to produce a place almost free from parasitic vegetation for maintaining a role of immediate intervention for counter-attack against microbial invasion. But, it may also be a place where diseases are produced, in the laboratory, in a "controllable" mode. It seems to be a place that enables a reduction, a verification of a disease, ... but also amplification, and a transfer of disease from one and another.
These sculptures were "disinfected" ... by the gardener...
